Contempory Garage

Everyone wants to have a home that shows who we are. We want a place where we feel comfortable and relaxed. That’s why manufacturers of garage doors have been changing up the way garage doors look with many new designs on the market. One of the leaders in this realm is Garaga, who offer a total of 24 models, 7 of which are modern or contemporary models.

Modern or contemporary style garage doors may not be perfect for every home architecture style, but they do fit a large number of houses. First, we’ll look at that these home styles are, so you can determine if it includes your own home.

So what types of homes are known as contemporary or modern style?

One of the things that you can look for to determine if a house is modern or contemporary is by looking for clean, straight lines. Usually the roofs on these houses have four slopes or are flat on top. The exterior is largely made from manufactured stone and wood. You’ll also find that these homes are often dark colors, like black or mocha brown. Modern and contemporary homes also offer large openings for patio doors and windows.

You’ve probably heard the name of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. His name is usually mentioned when people discuss modern and contemporary homes. The “ranch” style home that was popular in the 1950s was inspired by the architect’s design, Usonian.

What types of garage doors does Garaga have on the market?

The garage doors by Garaga mimic many of the traits of contemporary or modern homes. They have straight, clean lines that can be vertical or horizontal. Here are the different types of doors that match this style of home:

  • The Vog: this type of door has a v-shaped horizontal groove, is 40” x 1 ¼” (102 x 3 cm) long on each section, with a sleek but understated style many love.
  • The Moderno: this door features a thin 3/16″ (5 mm), continuous line which runs the entire width of the door. There are two configurations to choose from: the Multi with evenly spaced lines every few inches and the 2-Bead which has two lines on the bottom and top on each section.
  • The Grooved: this door model features a continuous horizontal line, 1” (25mm) high across the entire width of the door. Grooved comes in 5 or 4, depending on the height chosen for the door sections.
